Could it be related to the motherboard? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
My software runs smoothly without any heavy load. It behaves like typical game apps and obs, along with MSI Afterburner. The only unusual part is signalRGB, which I haven’t tried yet. There was an Agesa version for my board, but it’s still in beta. I’m considering giving it a shot. A later update worked on the 9000 series CPU. I’m currently using version 3.10, and there’s a 3.20 release. I’ve heard many cautionary tales about updating ASRock BIOS, but I’m not sure if that’s a real issue or just a temporary problem. I purchased this unit on launch day (7800X3D) on April 6, 2023.
Checked the microcode updates, DDU, and SFC/DISM fixes. The issue seems to occur occasionally.
Microcode similar to chipset from AMD exists, but no BIOS mentions it in current versions like 9000 series or AgeSaga patches. Yes, DDU twice, SFC and DISM are needed. Even after reinstalling Windows, it happens randomly—sometimes stutters, freezes, locks up, and occasionally recovers after a few minutes. Most times I have to power off the PC using the physical case button. It’s hard to say if it’s the board; I might replace it if it’s the cause.
I own another tower, but my current PC is running in water while I can rebuild it on air. I purchased a warranty for the board from Microcenter, and the CPU should be covered under its warranty. **UPDATE** After clearing the CMOS several times before, it appears fine now. It’s been about three days since this update (3/24/25). The only issue is that I can’t run Expo or PBO on this board, but otherwise it’s functioning properly with stock parts.
