I downloaded the DOOM Open Beta through Steam since it’s free to play this weekend. I used my old GeForce GTS 450 card, which doesn’t meet the minimum system requirements. After installing the latest GeForce Hot Fix driver 364.96, the game started but was only running at about 8 frames per second on the lowest settings at 1280x720p. I then uninstalled the newest driver from safe mode using the DDU Display installer, chose an older driver and selected graphics, audio, and physics only, opting for a clean install. Now, when I launch the game again, it stabilizes at around 20-21 fps in-game and 15-25 fps during gameplay. This is much better than before. I noticed the GPU core, memory, and shaders are operating at full speed. This is strange—why does it work sometimes with this trick? Have I been reinstalling the card again? I recorded my DOOM Open Beta gameplay on my GTS 450.

But it's still odd how the game behaves—it's working differently now. Using this trick helps more with my old card, boosting resolution to 1080p and skipping the accept prompt, which gives me double my FPS.

It's just a driver problem if it's AMD, otherwise the developers are to blame. Issue resolved.

The scene is intense and dramatic, capturing a tense moment in the film.

Probably just a basic GPU at your level.
