You're considering a upgrade for your Ryzen 5 2600x. It's worth noting that Rust performance on AMD CPUs can vary, so it's good to research specific benchmarks before making the switch.

Rust works on both AMD and Intel processors. The game isn't especially optimized, so a 2600x resolution is more than enough. However, the game itself seems to be of poor quality.

I also have a GTX 1080 but I needed to consider upgrading the CPU.

The problem you're facing isn't about performance gains from a CPU upgrade, since Rust isn't optimized for it. The real challenge lies in identifying what needs improvement.

Is there any mention of official sponsorship on the Rust website? Are there logos from Intel or AMD present? If so, which one appears prominently would indicate the preferred partner. If neither is visible, a specialized Rust community might provide more targeted guidance for your needs.
