Looking for an i9 9900K build with a near-5.0 overclock target. You're considering MSI Godlike and Asus ROG Extreme, weighing the options.

I use this MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC motherboard. The link points to an Australian site, so the price might be unreliable. It works with my 9900KF to reach 5.1Ghz across all cores, but at 5.2 it crashes before Windows loads. I’m not very familiar with overclocking, though I suspect the CPU was the main problem.

Godlike or Aorus Xtreme. ROG Extreme feels somewhat reduced. If you don’t want memory overclocking, the Aorus Pro is a better choice. It has a substantial enough VRM.
