What voltage will keep your I7 6700K stable at 4.7GHz?
What voltage will keep your I7 6700K stable at 4.7GHz?
My current plan:
Begin a 12-hour stress test from 10 PM to 10 AM the following morning.
Access the BIOS and set the multiplyer to 46, similar to 4.6GHz.
Conduct a 30-minute stress test and monitor the temperature.
If voltage is insufficient, expect BSOD or other Windows errors, inability to reach target clock speeds, failure to boot or POST, or various warnings. You should verify if this works. It won’t harm your hardware but may corrupt system files (occasionally), so back up important data if needed. Only increase voltage if the chip can’t function at that speed, and keep it below 1.30V unless you feel safe—some users go up to 1.4, while Intel advises not exceeding 1.40s... essentially stick to what your chip allows for longevity.
