What voltage increase is suitable after overclocking?
Hey guys,
I'm running AMD A10-6790k apu. It runs at 4.0 ghz by default. My motherboard is F2A55M-DS2.
I overclocked the apu to 4.4 ghz.
The CPU VID was at 1.325V at 4.0 ghz, after changing it to 4.4, I've raised it up to 1.375V. I've also raised NB VID from 1.2 to 1.23 (Because AMD overdrive said current voltage was 1.2250 but it was set at 1.2 before?).
I'm not sure if I've raised the voltage enough or if I did anything wrong, because when I stress test it, after 10 minute, my computer crashes. I'm able to run games for a long time though, as long as they are not super cpu intensive.
Can anyone suggest me what I should do?
Adjust the CPU voltage until it reaches a stable level or causes it to fail (follow guides and AMD's advice on the maximum voltage to prevent damage).
Keep increasing the voltage gradually until it reaches a steady state. Remember to stay within approximately 1.45 volts.
