You're running a powerful setup with an AMD A6-7700K, Zotac 780 Ti, and 4GB RAM. To maximize performance, consider upgrading the GPU to a more capable model like an RTX 3060 or better, and ensure your CPU is still the bottleneck. Also, check if your RAM can support higher speeds and add more if needed. Consider adding a solid-state drive for faster boot times and file access.

I believe the OP would benefit more from upgrading his entire CPU/MoBo/RAM to a budget Ryzen and at least 8GB of DDR4 instead of focusing on DDR3.

Your ASUS A68HM-K motherboard supports DDR4 RAM up to 3200MHz, so 3000MHz should work fine.

It is incorrect, the board only supports DDR3 RAM and does not allow backward or forward compatibility

Thanks in advance! I'm looking to install 16GB RAM soon after the quarantine. I'll search for a DDR3 that fits my motherboard.

Avoid adding extra RAM. The processor is outdated and slow. More memory won't improve performance. Plan for a Ryzen 5 1600AF/3600 or B450 board with DDR4 RAM.

What funds do you have available? It’s likely we can secure a significantly improved used or new system at a relatively low cost.

Upgrading to a Ryzen 3 3200G would likely boost its performance, but since you're budget-conscious, it might not be feasible. Consider smaller upgrades or alternative options that fit your financial limits.

Does it really mean you need to swap out every component? That would cost a year to prepare and I could invest in a more affordable setup.
