What to consider when picking a laptop to swap in for a mini-desktop?
I am working with an old mini desktop as my main computer. It is mainly used for writing personal emails, letters, documents, banking, research, and other tasks. It is also used for personal documents.
It seems that choosing a laptop over a mini desktop makes more sense. Just in case for mobility and cost efficiency.
Since I use this device mostly at a workstation with a good monitor and KVM, I don’t think the laptop would need a large screen or touch functionality.
What laptop should I consider? Would a DELL Inspiron be a suitable option?
For general digital consumption, I currently use an iPad.
Yes, the Dell you referred to should probably satisfy all your requirements. Do you have a specific budget in mind?
Good day to look at laptops! I like to be below $600.
Just came across a HP 845 with AMD-7 for $589. Never used a AMD CPU
P.S. never heard of Chuwi
The HP is reliable. I wouldn't suggest Chuwi, opting instead for a more robust brand such as HP, Dell, etc.
You won't notice much variation from an end-user standpoint between AMD and Intel CPUs. Battery performance may differ, but it largely depends on the models you're looking at.
I don't always understand which CPU to choose. For example, Intel 5 versus 7 or similar options on AMD. It seems like a "5" would be enough. I wonder if a "7" would be better if I plan to use the laptop for a long time.
