Hey there! I see you're excited about your first ship in Star Citizen. The difference between the Avenger models priced at 60USD and 75USD depends on the specific features and upgrades included. Let me break it down for you—check the in-game details or specs to see what’s added at each price point. Thanks for reaching out, Dave!
View the vessel details here https://robertsspaceindustries.com/ship-specs. Right now, there’s no variation—just a standard ship ready for use in Arena Commander.
There isn't a separate Avenger version available. The price variations you notice come from purchasing the ship for $60 and a game package (containing initial funds, insurance, the game, and beta access) for $75. If you haven't acquired a ship yet, opt for the game package; otherwise, you'll be left without anything.
The avenger is a great ship, I've got one now. But with the Xian scout being put up tomorrow, depending on the price I'll melt my avenger for that.
The 325a is built for medium-range combat and dogfighting, while the Avenger excels at long-range engagements with a boom'n'zoom capability. The Avenger features the largest nose mount for its size, highlighting its focus on quick maneuvers or stealth. The 325a offers dedicated missile slots, but the Avenger must use external fuel pods for missiles, which limits its operational range. Overall, these aircraft serve different roles despite having similar capabilities in certain areas.
I appreciate the info. I hadn't noticed that feature on the Avenger. It seems the ship is getting more impressive by the day.
It's a Class 3 (gimbaled) vessel of size 5—definitely worth taking seriously. I imagine two Avengers flying together, with a Constellation or Retaliator pilot sweating a bit. The challenge lies in balancing things out. The wing-mounted weapons are small, so loading the nose with an energy weapon will be tough to manage. Shields will be hard to breach, and the power plant may struggle to keep up with continuous fire. You'll need teamwork or sharp piloting to succeed.
