What steps should I take to secure the resolution settings on my multi-display configuration?
Hello All
I have three external monitors connected to my laptop, giving me a total of four displays.
I’m running diagnostics on one screen while other tasks are handled on the others.
My issue is that when I play an old game with resolutions lower than 1080p, the resolution on my main screen changes. This causes the setup of my other programs to shift, which is quite bothersome.
Is there a way to fix this and keep the resolutions stable for games on the primary display?

The most effective method to eliminate the disorder caused by icons or programs is either to conceal the icons or install software that organizes them into designated folders.
Run the game in a borderless window, or windowed settings. Fullscreen on non-native resolutions may lead to these problems.
I'm not certain about the outcome if you performed Win + P to switch to the main screen. I understand you can enable or disable monitors this way, but I haven't tried it before and worry it might send all shortcuts back to the main display. It might be worth a shot.
The issue arises because older games are designed to run at low resolutions within a limited window when using windowed mode. This happens since the main screen operates at FHD resolution.
