I just received a new M.2 SSD and wanted to transfer my operating system from the previous one. The MiniTool software didn’t work, so I need some assistance.

Here are the specific details you requested:
What exact model and make of the device?
What dimensions does it occupy?
How much room does it take up on the existing C drive?
Which motherboard is compatible?
What operating system is used?

1. Doesn't recall the old model but it offers 225gb, while the new one is sn570 1tb
2. 225gb and 1tb
3. After factory reset, only the OS remains, so 173gb is excluded from the 225gb
4. z390 auros pro wifi
5. win11

If you performed a factory reset, why not simply reinstall the operating system on the new drive?
But, if you prefer...

This seems quite complex... Should we consider upgrading to a new operating system? I don't mind doing it.

If you performed a factory reset, you won't lose anything.
That's exactly what I would do.
Unplug all other drives, then set up on the new NVMe.

Are you thinking about physically removing them? My CPU cooler is preventing access to the M.2 slot... Would using an external USB drive or Windows installation media be an option instead?

Yes, disconnecting physically.
If you skip this step, the tiny boot partition is likely to end up on another drive, leading to complications later.
No, you cannot install it on an external drive and then relocate it inside.
