I appreciate RPGs and shooters. Have you explored titles blending both? Borderlands 2, Deux Ex Human Revolution, Far Cry 3 or 4 (with less RPG elements).

Tales of Symphonia is an amazing game. People say the port isn't great, and you might need some fan work to hit 60 fps (the game is capped at 30 fps), but it's totally worth the effort.
