Hello everyone,
I’m dealing with a Lenovo FHD 300 webcam that suddenly stopped working. Whenever I try to use it, the light turns on but no image appears, and even after closing the app, the camera keeps activating (the light blinks). I shared this problem in some forums, and they suggested it was likely a hardware fault. However, after using an OTG cable with my Android phone, the camera works perfectly, indicating it’s not a hardware issue.

I checked the device manager, tried uninstalling and refreshing the device multiple times, and searched online for drivers, but couldn’t find any. Lenovo’s website doesn’t list any drivers either. The Windows Device Manager shows an outdated driver from 2006, and I’m unsure how to update it.

Could someone assist me in resolving this? How can I install a custom driver that might work with my webcam, even though no official one exists?

Download the necessary drivers from the provided link. Install them using Compatibility Mode, such as right-clicking the installer and selecting Properties, then the Compatibility tab. If this method fails, you may need drivers from when the webcam was initially released, which would be before Windows 10.

Hello there!
I tried this, still doesn't work, the drivers aren't replaced for the camera only, I've tried uninstalling the device, installing from lenovo then restarting, just installing normally as well.
What am I missing here? one more thing is that for the hardware id in my device in device manager, it is non-existent in google, this isn't normal right?
This is what it says my hardware id is :
USB\VID_17EF&PID_4831&REV_5002&MI_00
USB\VID_17EF&PID_4831&MI_00
One more thing is that let's say I open my camera app, the green light for camera turning on comes, but then there's no image (not even black), so I close the camera app, but that green light doesn't go at all, it just stays there even if I uninstall the device or disable it from device manager.
Also one other thing is (not sure if this is useful), when I run this same device in android, the first time I plug it in, I just get a black image and a static sound, I unplug and plug it back in I'm getting perfect video

When attempting to install drivers manually from the folder containing the Lenovo Easy Driver installation, the process yields the provided link.

Hello everyone!
I was able to resolve this problem—it was clearly a driver-related issue.
I searched online using the product number, but couldn’t locate any available drivers.
Then I tried running it on a Linux environment; my VM didn’t work, but the webcam was recognized as "Sonix Webcam" instead of Lenovo.
I previously attempted to install Lenovo FHD 500 drivers, but they didn’t detect my device at all.
After plugging it back into my Android phone and checking the device info, it was still showing up as Sonix.
It seems there might be a discrepancy between the branding and actual manufacturer, possibly due to Sonix producing these webcams.
I tried the Sonix Easy Camera drivers, but they didn’t help.
Finally, I found a Lenovo Sonic Camera Driver link here:
https://support.lenovo.com/bg/en/do...-s...t-notebook
It’s intended for notebooks, but I installed it anyway and now everything is working!
Four months of troubles, countless headaches, and I even installed viruses under the guise of drivers. I hope Lenovo improves this situation.
