What should I do if my disks aren't found by third-party applications?
Hi, roughly six weeks ago I switched to Windows 11 with a complete wipe and format, converting NTFS and GPT partitions on my Samsung 870 Drive SSD. The installation faced problems, so I resorted to using the Command prompt for more formatting. Recently, I've encountered more issues, but the biggest problem is that third-party apps no longer recognize my SSD and HDD.
Please note it worked before, but now it seems to stop functioning (I think).
I need Samsung Magician to check my SSD settings, but everything shows as N/A and "Unsupported". CrystalDiskInfo can't extract information from my system.
I've tried running chkdsk, sfc /scannow, and disabling bit locker, but I'm out of ideas.
Could anyone assist me? Thanks.
I attempted to open Samsung Magician, but it wasn't accessible. However, CrystalDiskInfo showed no errors and listed the disks.
Run a hard drive scan on c: using the specified commands.
Start a command prompt and input the following steps, hitting Enter after each.
sfc /scannow
Proceed with the next command.
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
I can recall the commands you entered.
The Disk Management image shows a mix of non-standard Windows partitions across two drives.
You should see the 450MB and 99MB hidden partitions on the 465GB drive 0, which is where your visible partition (drive C) with Windows resides.
Having two Recovery partitions, one on each drive, seems unusual.
I would suggest removing all drives except the one you intend to use for Windows and reinstalling the OS.
It seems you were likely adjusting the drive settings for Windows 11 during installation and didn’t want any mistakes. You’re unsure about the disk-related details and could use some assistance.
I discovered that the Windows Boot Manager is stored on a different disk than expected, and I need guidance on moving it.
