Urgent upgrade needed for gaming performance. Current ISP router struggles with online shooters. Seeking a strong wireless option with fiber readiness, preferably one of the models you mentioned.

Your present router might not be the best choice for faster performance. Changing it won’t always boost speeds, and you may still rely on your ISP’s setup since it functions as both modem and router.

You're currently using an Ethernet cable to connect your PC to your ISP router/modem combo. Spending a few hundred dollars on a separate Wi-Fi router likely won't fix the issue if you're already experiencing problems—Wi-Fi issues would present differently. I'd try more troubleshooting, perhaps have a friend with their PC check if they face the same lag, to determine if the problem is with the connection or your device. If it's the internet link, it's time to reach out to your ISP for assistance.
