What readings are shown on the HWMonitor and are they excessive?
Hello once more, sorry to restart this discussion. I wanted to share an update about what I'm working on now.
I'm currently awaiting these items:
Motherboard: Asus Prime B760 PLUS D4 ATX – considered a solid choice with plenty of upgrade potential.
PSU: Corsair CX550 ATX PSU 550W – testing this against my current 380W unit; if it performs better, I'll invest in a new one. Otherwise, I'd rather save for a CPU upgrade.
Case: Phanteks XT Pro Ultra Black ATX – equipped with four 120mm fans (three front, one back). I plan to add more fans, but I'm unsure whether to place them at the bottom for GPU cooling or as exhaust vents on top.
I don't understand why you thought that was necessary. You got a worse PSU, and the case wasn't the issue at all. The motherboard had nothing to do with your cooling problems either. Honestly, none of this makes sense. I really wish you had asked more questions before buying parts—it would have been much better.
We discussed earlier how I can relocate my components into a new case since I’m getting tired of the current one. Many reviews also mention this case has poor airflow, so I chose to invest in a better model to gradually upgrade my PC over time, enabling features like unlocking XMP for RAM and more.
I didn’t replace my PSU with a new one—it’s the old one from my brother’s previous PC. He upgraded everything himself recently, so I asked if I could borrow it to see if it would fit in my new case instead of keeping the old one. You suggested that the current PSU might be faulty, so I’m open to getting a proper one later if needed.
I also thought about starting over with my PC rather than trying to diagnose the issue further, but I realized it could be either the PSU or the motherboard. If there’s any difference, I’ll upgrade then.
In a prior message you mentioned linking my PSU/Case and MOBO, so I decided to follow that path. Eventually, I plan to focus on the GPU and CPU if necessary.
However, having a larger case with enough space for work, proper cable management, plenty of fans, and a cooler that fits perfectly is something I’ve long wanted. I just needed guidance on what to look for, and it seems the new MOBO has three M.2 slots, which is great since I have many games and want to fit all my fans. It also offers four RAM slots and a BIOS with useful features. Plus, the RGB lighting will be more appealing than a plain black box with a single blue LED strip.
I could have accidentally stepped on my own belongings. I believe I mixed up this discussion with another one. Let me recheck the conversation and respond to you. My mistake.
