What RAM do you require for Vtubing?
I was checking a Twitch stream from a VTuber and they mentioned having 16GB of RAM, but they were suggesting upgrading to 64GB since 16 was nearing its limit. It was tough to accept that 64 was essential and the internet didn’t seem very supportive in this case. I’m still trying to figure out the differences between 2D and 3D setups and which programs require how much memory. My curiosity is really growing!
16GB seems insufficient for streaming tasks, especially with all the plugins and effects you might use. A more suitable amount would likely be closer to 64GB or even 32GB depending on your software needs. There’s no simple solution—it depends on the programs you run and how much memory they require.
Streaming 32 GB is quite typical for that setup. 48 seems to be the upper limit you'd usually encounter, and I don't think 64 is necessary because at that scale there are other issues to consider. Mostly, Twitch isn't designed to manage such large amounts right out of the gate.
16 gigabytes for gaming, 32 gigabytes for gaming and streaming plus other uses. Based on the system, 64 gigabytes could offer some benefits but the value decreases. Begin with two 16-gigabyte modules; if you run low on RAM, increase it.
