What ram?
Hello, i'm buying ram hopefully today but i was wondering which kit would you guys get. I was looking at the corsair dominator platinum 32gb 3466mhz cl16 (2x16) or the dominator platinum 3600mhz cl18 (4x8) on a gigabyte aorus x570 master with a ryzen 3950x. I was looking at Corsair ram because it will sync with all my other corsair produucts with RGB and the dominator plantium series because they market it as better for overclocking and I will be benching with this system and there samsung B-die but if there's any significantly better ram kits you can let me know. Thanks in advanced.
I wouldn't recommend either option since you can get RAM at the same price or even better. If I had to pick, I'd choose the more affordable one, as both are solid and have experienced pros. The 3466mhz CL16 kit offers a quad channel with lower latency, while the CL18 has a higher clock speed. You could easily upgrade the 3466mhz model to 3600 MHz for improved performance. Note: AM4 doesn't support quad channel.
No quad channel available on Ryzen, just use Corsair LPS. No need to pay extra for Dominator.
Order the dual channel CL16 package. This might be an extra cost, but a kit with lower latency would likely be preferable. Alternatively, you could choose the Corsair RGB Pro instead.
Lpx offers advantages in design flexibility and efficiency. Dominator is strong for complex, high-density boards but lpx provides better adaptability for modern PCB requirements.
LPX offers better value, yet the dominator stands out with its style. For those on a tighter budget, opt for the 32GB 3466Mhz CL16 dominator and upgrade it to 3600Mhz, as suggested by @SpookyCitrus.
I possess a 2x8 LPX collection and I appreciate the design, though op mentioned: if my budget allowed, I’d choose Dominator—they’re definitely some of the most attractive options available.
