What PSU should I select for my components?
What PSU should I select for my components?
I'd say minimum 550, perferably 650 watts.
As for what brand, there is a PSU tierlist on this forum.
Anything B-rated and above is a good rule of thumb.
Personally I'm partial to the corsair RM/i and TX series.
Here’s a useful chart for selecting a PSU:
http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm
It recommends 550w for a 3060 model.
However, think about the possible graphics upgrades you could purchase over its lifespan.
Typically, only a small increase in cost is needed when moving from 550w to 650w, 750w, or 850w.
A PSU consumes only the power it actually needs, not its maximum capacity.
It seems modern graphics cards can experience significant power surges beyond their standard draw.
Avoid purchasing an inexpensive PSU. Opt for one with a minimum of a 7-year warranty.
Seasonic and Corsair RM are solid options to begin with.
Hello

.
I have a minor inquiry: Do you already possess these components (CPU / MB / GPU) or are you constructing them yourself? If you're starting fresh, I suggest choosing the Ryzen 5 5600 (non-G) since it offers double the L3 cache compared to the 5600G. Should you have these parts in an existing setup, what became of your current PSU?
Also, for a new build, I'd think about going straight to AM5. A GIGABYTE B650M DS3H is just $10 more than the MSI B550-A PRO. Of course, a Ryzen 5 7600 is $90 more than the R5 5600, but it's 38% faster if memory makes sense.
