Good morning,

Laptop model:
Zephyrus G16 GU603ZI
Last night I replaced the thermal pads (on the GPU RAM and other parts) and swapped in Thermal-grizzly's KryoSheet graphene sheet for the liquid metal. I applied it to both the GPU and CPU.

The process was a bit challenging; I had to use cotton swabs and 90% alcohol to remove all the liquid metal, though I believe I did a decent job (this isn’t my first attempt at this). There were some burnt residues left on both the pads and the processor that I couldn’t fully eliminate. Some people suggest using a thicker cloth and applying more pressure, but I’m not sure if that’s necessary.

Overall, the temperatures look great—both GPU and CPU are stable. However, I’ve started experiencing stuttering and graphical glitches while playing games like Starfield and Ghostwire Tokyo. When I pressed Delta force, the PC shut down on its own, which is unusual. I’m still trying to understand why this happened.

I’ve reviewed everything carefully, but the only possible explanation seems to be that the thermal paste got stuck between the components at the top of the motherboard, among other parts that are hard to clean thoroughly. It’s puzzling because the thermal paste on the pads isn’t supposed to conduct heat well. Could this be causing a blockage or affecting performance in another way? (I’ve marked the affected areas in the photos.)

Attached are some images and videos for reference. I’m quite confused about the issue and would appreciate any further insights.

Thank you.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Removing all the liquid metal was a challenge—I tried cotton swabs and 90% alcohol, but I managed to do a decent job (this isn’t my first attempt at re-pasting). There were some burnt residues on both the pad and a small amount on the processor that I couldn’t fully eliminate. Some suggest using a thicker cloth and applying more pressure, though I’m not sure if that’s necessary for me.
You might want to check out these images of the copper cooler.

After the cleaning, the heat-sink and CPU were in a decent state, though not flawless. I believe it should function without major problems.
