In general understanding, "run better" refers to improved performance. Specific requirements should be clarified to define what constitutes "better." The final choice might hinge more on the quality of the power supply unit than any other factor. Check product reviews for guidance: Explore the manufacturer's official pages for user guides, specifications, FAQs, and community discussions. Consider both explicit and implicit information, and keep in mind that opinions may vary.

I'm mainly concerned about the GPU, as some sites suggest 996W and others 880W for the build. I still want extra power for the GPU, but I'm new to PCIe 5 GPUs and have seen reviews saying a 4090 works with a 1000W model. I'm unsure how much power I actually need.

Use the calculators in the review link. When a component like a GPU shows multiple wattage options, select the highest value. Also calculate your own total wattage manually. Reach a general agreement on the system's required power. A premium but more efficient PSU might work better than a cheaper one that claims higher power but is less dependable and less effective. Check what games you play and look at the FAQs and forums on game sites for any mentions of GPU or PSU issues during intense gaming sessions.
