Current configuration details: i5-12600K, EVGA 3060TI FTW, Gigabyte Z-690 DDR4, 240mm AIO cooler, Corsair Dominator DDR4 2x16.
Upgrade suggestions and implications for adding four DDR4 sticks are requested.

I'm encountering certain constraints at the moment. I'm seeking improvements but unsure what an upgrade would bring. Am I changing for the sake of it? My financial limits are clear, and I need to know my existing power supply model.

Just in a quick look, you could have a more powerful graphics card paired with the 12600K. If you are playing at 1080, I wouldn't change a thing. If you scaled up to 1440 then it would make sense to have a more powerful graphics option for more frames or more eye candy...but, the thing is, on paper the hardware as is makes a lot of sense both from a performance standpoint and value.
But really, getting down to the bones of it, the above post is spot on.

Thanks for the response!
I generally experience minimal lag, but frame drops occur when doing multiple tasks at once—like streaming on Discord while watching a video. I’m also looking to upgrade for better performance. The budget isn’t a concern as long as the value is there. Plus, I’d like some improved parts, such as more RAM (4 sticks vs 2).
Power supply: 800W Gold

i don't know any 800w models; they're usually around 750 or 850w.
a bios update could bring you a 14700k.
if your psu is solid, consider upgrading to a 4070 super that's coming out by the end of jan 2024.
alternatively, there might be some good deals on the standard 4070 during clearance sales.

or simply go with a 7900xtx or 4080 super if the budget allows and 4k at 12600k should work fine for now
I really have a strong feeling about the 14th gen it seems like a cheap imitation
maybe 13600k but more so 32gb of ram and a top-tier GPU !!

The original should feature a 4k display with a 144hz refresh rate. A fresh 4k monitor priced at 400 USD is available.
