I'm getting started with my first PC setup and need some guidance before diving in. Right now I haven’t bought anything yet, so I have a lot of options open. To give you some context, my machine will be used intensely for 3D modeling, rendering, sculpting, and animation work—tools like Blender, Maya, ZBrush, Unity, and Photoshop are on the list. I’m not planning any streaming, 4K editing, or gaming beyond testing my own builds. My only gaming focus is performance, so FPS matters a lot.

I’m leaning toward a Ryzen 9 3900X for the CPU and an MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Super for the graphics card. I hope this combo, together with other components, will give me a solid, versatile build.

I’m having some trouble finding a motherboard that fits my parts. This is my first time assembling a PC, so any suggestions for affordable options or tips on verifying compatibility would be really helpful. If you have any advice, I’d appreciate it.

On the motherboard side, I’d choose an X570 series. They’re compatible with the 3000 series Ryzen (Gen 3) and can support future upgrades. I’ve been considering the Crosshair VIII Hero (or Formula) as my next build. From what I’ve read and watched, and despite my surprise, Intel’s 9900k seems more suited to your needs—another solid choice.
