Did you just install Windows 11, upgrade from 7 to 10, and then 11? Review the event log for any errors or warnings.

No, it's a different Dell. They set up the operating system.

It seems there might be a problem with Windows 11, but no solution has been found yet.

Someone on another forum recommended doing a repair install of Windows 11 if all else fails. It might seem like a big step for such a small issue, especially on a new computer... but I'm still pretty new to technology. What are your thoughts on this suggestion?

I've never encountered this problem before, so I chose to try it out.
Running Win 11 Pro with 64GB RAM. Full specifications listed in my profile, under Viper.
Multiple SSD options
3,219 entries, 1.11GB. Mainly jpg files, but also gif, pdf, png, webp...
Transferring to a new folder on a 1TB Samsung 860 EVO
This storage device has never handled such files before.
After the copy, I opened the new folder by double-clicking—Large Icons appear instantly.
Switching to Extra Large made it open even faster.

I've noticed a comparable situation, which seems quite problematic—a video driver problem. What graphics card is installed and are the associated drivers current?

Thank you for your feedback. This only reinforces my concern about the issue with my W11 system. I'm still trying to identify the problem.

Thank you. Your NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 is running the newest driver (released Dec. 4), but the issue persists.
