What methods exist to reduce the voltage supplied to the CPU in a Dell XPS 13 9360 (Intel i7 8550U)?
I've been exploring the option of undervolting my laptop, thinking it could improve thermal management and performance. I attempted to install Intel XTU, which is typically suggested for this purpose, but encountered the error "Attempted to install on an unsupported platform." My machine is a Dell XPS 13 9360 with an Intel i7 8550u. Anyone have advice on how to get Intel XTU to work or alternative software for CPU undervolting?
Attempt to set up an older version of Intel xtU, then adjust the voltage, and here are additional resources that might assist with undervolting https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/8...ervolting/
Opt instead of undervolting by lowering the highest processor state in Windows 10. This changes the CPU's power mode. See the article for details: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/use-m...windows-10

You can find more details here: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/use-m...windows-10. I'm familiar with the Windows 10 processor settings, but ideally I'd like to undervolt if it's feasible, so I can cut power use while keeping performance high.
