What methods exist to identify the source of input lag?
I purchased an LG 27GN7 in April and noticed significant input lag. Initially, I believed the issue was with the monitor itself, so I had it repaired. They replaced the panel and returned it. After reinstalling the driver and swapping mice, the lag persisted. While gaming feels smooth at first, my mouse becomes slower over time. Could you help me identify which parts of my setup might be causing the problem? Thank you!
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! Share your motherboard make and model, BIOS version for that board. Provide details about your PSU and its age. For RAM, include a link to the kit. Add up their total capacity—16GB—but specify the brand, frequency, latency, and specifications. Ask about cooling solutions for that K-series processor. Report the platform temperatures during laggy moments. How can HWMonitor assist in monitoring these temps? What system titles are you using and where did you obtain them?
Thank you for the details! I own a Z370 GAMING PRO CARBON AC (MS-7B45) motherboard. The BIOS version is American Megatrends Inc. A.00, dated 9/1/2017. My power supply unit is an EVGA Supernova 750 G2, a 750 watt gold model. I purchased it around 2017, which makes it approximately four years old. For my RAM, I have the Vengeance LPX DDR4 from Corsair. I think this is the one you linked:

According to the specs, my RAM is rated at 2933 MHz. I’m unsure how to verify latency or other details. To keep my CPU cool, I use a Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED 66.3 CFM Rifle Bearing CPU cooler. During gameplay, my GPU runs around 37°C under normal load, and my CPU runs at 43°C with 54% utilization. Could it be that the motherboard is affecting mouse input responsiveness? I notice noticeable lag when using the mouse but not as apparent with the keyboard.
