What methods exist to enhance RAM usage in Chrome?
I have 16 GB of RAM installed on my laptop. At its maximum, 80% is utilized due to frequent multitasking with multiple Chrome browsers, which consumes most of the available memory. I am curious if there are methods to improve RAM efficiency so that Google Chrome does not require such a high amount of memory.
By peak, what are you referring to? How many tabs do you have opened up? How many extensions do you have installed on your Chrome browser? Might want to parse the version(not edition) for your OS, if you're on Windows 10. Also, please parse the make and model of your laptop. If possible, parse the SKU to said laptop and it's BIOS version.
If Chrome offers a feature or extension for pausing tabs, then utilize it. If not, the best method to lower RAM consumption is to limit the number of tabs and instances running.
The sole method to lower RAM consumption is by minimizing the number of browser windows.
I have 50 tabs open on my laptop at once. The device is a Dell Latitude 7440 i5.
I don't get why you'd need over fifty tabs open at once. You probably waste most of your time switching between them. And if any of those tabs have issues, your whole system will slow down.
16GB of RAM is perfect for all tasks. My old PC has 8GB, which didn’t cause any issues with Chrome.
Chrom has turned into a chaotic pig. It’s also packed with spyware. Having fifty tabs open at once is completely unnecessary, and as discussed before, it would be extremely confusing to navigate and would make it impossible to return to what you were looking at just a few minutes ago. Until you fix that issue, your main problems will persist.
