For instance, Need for speed 2012.
My screen operates at 165 hz and this title doesn't support that setting. It seems stuck at 60 FPS regardless of whether Vsync is available.
On my PC, other games function smoothly at 165 hz when the settings permit it.
Can't you adjust it a bit? High FPS has really ruined my experience.
As discussed, this was the intended approach for the game. Changing the frame rate limit to exceed its original design frequently causes issues, such as broken physics and collision detection.
Well, talking about the games that don't have 60 FPS locked but still don't have an option to increase the refresh rate Ingame,
How about GTA SA? I get 100+ FPS but there is no option to set the refresh rate, which is why it seems choppy with screen tearing
If V-sync, g-sync, free-sync, adaptive-sync and all the syncs are disabled (to avoid input lag), the refresh rate will depend on your monitor rather than the game. That said, looking up the refresh rate in Windows settings and the NVIDIA control panel under Manage 3D settings hasn’t caused any issues.
My computer behaves oddly. At 60Hz without Vsync, the screen shows a lot of tearing each second. With 165Hz and without Vsync, there is no tearing at all.
