I own my own physical dedicated server with 128gb RAM, 10TB storage, and Windows 11. I need a solution to host, share, and back up files for my friends in a way similar to Onedrive—so when someone uploads a file, everyone can access, delete, or stream it easily. I'm seeking something that closely matches the File Explorer experience. My friend recommended "rejetto," but it seems outdated and uncertain if it meets my needs. Any recommendations would be very helpful!

Consider using Nextcloud or OwnCloud. These are self-hosted cloud solutions. You might need to deploy them in a Docker or Kubernetes environment.

Be cautious about this.
How much confidence do you place in others?
Their connections could be compromised by individuals beyond your influence.
How prepared are you to lose internet access or even have your equipment taken away?
Because someone else shared copyrighted material—or worse.
You’ll also need strict measures to monitor that external access.
Every system worldwide is receiving access requests constantly.
By intentionally opening it up, you’ve weakened the initial barrier against malicious actors.
That’s why most people opt for a hosting provider rather than handling it personally.
Just remember—approach this carefully, aware of the dangers.

Hello USAFRet,
Your feedback comes across as dismissive and overly simplistic.
It seems you’re treating my situation as if I were a child attempting to share a server setup on 4chan.
You seem to be making assumptions about my intentions and possibly my character, which isn’t constructive.
It appears you’re underestimating my understanding of security matters, especially since I own a physical server.
I’m not suggesting it’s impossible for someone with that kind of hardware investment to be aware of risks—just that it’s unlikely without more context.
Your mention of piracy is relevant, but using hosting services doesn’t automatically mean exposure; I’ve never indicated such access.
I hope you have a good day.
Zane. ❤

Many 14-year-olds who claim to be server owners visit here since their father's job involved disposing of an HP DL380G5. You can't really determine your history except through the information they share in their posts.

My remark focused on your acquaintances' circle.
I didn't assume anything.
What we were dealing with was simply your intention to set up a file server from your home.
I listed a few aspects you might not be aware of.
A breach in your firewall means it's now exposed to external access.
Of course, a password will be required.
And it will still receive constant access requests.
Hopefully, your security measures are solid.
But let's move forward:
"Just like OneDrive"
Why not a standard FTP server? Uploading and downloading is smooth for everyone.
And...
So I do too.
About 80TB of storage available. Up to 256 separate user accounts, each with isolated space, plus extensive shared access.
If that were the case.
For a time, it was accessible from outside. It was heavily secured with strong passwords, etc.
Every day, multiple attempts from around the globe.
Countries like Russia, China, Switzerland, Nigeria, Florida, Ohio, Portugal, etc., etc.
I can share the old logs if you wish.
I eventually turned it off after a while, as the risks became too high.
And I actually understand what I'm doing.
Not trying to discourage you or imply that you and your friends are ignorant or harmful.
Just aiming to highlight some potential dangers.
