No, not really. You can check if something is dead using a multimeter or the paperclip test, though most people just replace it if they're unsure.

There isn't an effortless solution without investing in $10K of testing gear. The "paper clip" test works best for verifying a completely failed power supply unit.

The $15 testers on Amazon do not perform actual load testing for a PSU. How recent is your PSU?

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.
I understand the paper clip test, but my PSU hasn't stopped working for about 12 years.

It's time to consider a fresh PSU.

I won't debate, but I think Seasonic is among the top manufacturers for power supplies.
And if I'm thinking about upgrading, buying a new PC means there are no Seasonic PSUs available locally right now, and I worry I might miss out on high-quality ones that still perform well.

Your budget is clear, and you prefer purchasing PC components from Seasonic. They are a reliable brand with top-notch products. While I've tried many of their items, there are alternatives that perform equally well or better. I plan to maintain the Seasonic as a backup option for troubleshooting or repairs, especially when power usage is limited.

Budget is really tight here 😄 so I’ll get a completely new case, keeping only the HDDs, SSDs, and a long-lasting veteran PSU. If you have any other similar brands in mind, like Seasonic, to look into?

12 years ago this might have been a decent unit, but by today's standards it's quite poor.
Seasonic is a small company, not even among the top ten globally. They offer some high-end models and also very low-quality ones. Many OEMs produce much better PSUs. Don't waste time with Seasonic. Any decent PSU from recently should be significantly better than an old Seasonic model.
