I'm dealing with being forced to relocate due to my landlord selling the apartment I've occupied recently. To prepare, I've collected outdated computers to take to a recycler. I recall reading that before disposing of them, it's important to remove the hard drives and make sure the data is unrecoverable. Someone posted on an old bulletin board years ago about using an electric drill to puncture hard drives before throwing them away. This morning, I began extracting hard drives from my old machines, but encountered a laptop without any hard drive. I discovered a floppy drive and a battery, but no hard drive at all. It appears to be a Toshiba Satellite Pro 440 CDT. I've looked online for guidance on this model, but nothing specific comes up. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

The recommended size should be a 2.5 inch hard disk drive for that laptop.
