I'm shifting away from my home, but I still have the PC case. I have two moving options: either use a mobile storage unit going to a storage centre and then to my new place, or move it in my car (planning to park it in the foot area in front of the back seats). For the graphics card, I'm unsure what to do since I bought it second-hand without a box, but I might be able to make one myself. My system has an AIO cooler, so no need for a heavy one. The case is a mid-tower model.

I would simply place it on its side, with the video card facing upwards. You might want to take it off if you prefer.

In the vehicle.
Maybe some cushioning similar to a blanket would help.
Placing it flat in the trunk would also be beneficial.

If your graphics card is large or heavy, consider removing it. You likely have an old anti-static bag nearby that you could use to store it.

Once you have it in the trunk, ensure it remains stationary. Avoid side-to-side movement during turns or bumps over obstacles. Limit its range of motion by positioning items nearby.

During a long journey with unpredictable road conditions, I would also remove the CPU heatsink (if applicable) and the GPU.

The GPU should function normally without an antistatic bag. Always make contact with the surface when handling it, then touch the rear I/O bracket first before any further steps. When placing it on or in another component, always maintain contact with the rear I/O bracket and then touch the adjacent object before allowing other parts of the card to interact.

This approach mimics the purpose of antistatic wrist straps and anti-static bags—preventing charge buildup by ensuring potential differences are safely managed through conductive materials.

Maintaining all discharges on the ground plane (rear I/O bracket) achieves a similar result.
Steer clear of using materials like bare Styrofoam for packing, as they can generate static.
