I just watched Linus discuss gaming streaming options. Many platforms looked really disappointing because of their limited game choices. He mentioned a Shadow service at the end, which piqued my interest. After some investigation, I discovered it lets you rent a complete PC rather than just a library of games. That sounded interesting, but I’m hesitant to give it a try since the company is facing financial trouble. If you think it’s a bad move to explore Shadow, what alternatives do you recommend? And if you’re curious, I own a PC myself, but I’d prefer playing with a friend who doesn’t have one.

The outcome of Shadow remains uncertain, making it impossible to determine what will occur next.

The primary issue with shadows is the absence of a suitable alternative

I'll give it a shot. My GTX 970 has been acting up too—can't even connect to some older titles. Still, I'm planning to sign up for a subscription since the 1080 system should offer a smoother experience.

The 970 seems to be running slower, though it's not brand new. I believe it should work smoothly at 60fps in 1080p on most games, except for a few titles like Cyberpunk and MSFL2020. What are you aiming to achieve with the 970?

The 970 offers strong performance yet limited to just 4GB of VRAM, which often leads to problems in certain modern titles. That’s why I swapped it out at that time.

I'm not claiming it's slow, but it's reaching a stage where I'm playing games at the very lowest configurations while still achieving 60fps. Some titles won't even run smoothly at those settings, like Cyberpunk. It works well enough, which is why I thought about offering services to a friend. Plus, my CPU and RAM are quite old, and my GPU handles 8GB and a 4th gen i5 only occasionally. While I'm not saying it's terrible, in two years I'd expect this setup to become outdated. It's tough to find reliable CPU comparisons online, but friends told me the gap between a 2014 Core i5 4590 and today's CPUs is significant—though I'm not sure how much.
