Hey everyone, hope you are doing well too. I am wondering how image upscalers work under the hood when I use something like ImgUpscaler.com. Right now I want to build my own tool that can upscale images by 8x or even more, but it needs some extra features. These tools are already very popular in places like Photoshop and Lightroom. I have no coding skills though, so I need help figuring out how much money it would take to make something like this. My main goal is just to understand the concept behind it all. "cost" means the yearly salary for a small team of dedicated people at Adobe. In plain English, it's several hundred thousand dollars. For someone who isn't a coder, that looks like just one simple button to hit. It seems easy? No, not really. When you zoom in as a programmer, you see thousands of lines of code and lots of tests behind that one clicky button.
You won't get an explanation here. Learning code takes many months. You can't simply change a car engine and then ask why the others run differently.
