What laptop would you prefer?
What laptop would you prefer?
Hello everyone.
I own an Asus Vivobook N580GD: the least desirable laptop I could ever purchase.
I am evaluating two alternatives to upgrade mine:
MSI Summit E13FlipEvo A13MT-212IT – a Framework Laptop 13.
MSI includes some features I really appreciate, such as a touchscreen and tablet mode, even though they aren’t essential.
The main concern is the "16GB RAM onboard," which would prevent me from swapping it out if necessary.
The Framework Laptop 13, however, offers the flexibility to replace all components, regardless of whether it lacks these extra perks.
Which option do you recommend?
I think I’d probably go with the framework then. As you mentioned you can replace the board while keeping the chassis, battery, and screen. The modular I/O could also be useful. I’m still wondering how often you’d consider upgrading to make it worthwhile. If there’s a purpose for the removed board, that’s fine.

In another discussion, I mentioned looking into the MSI Summit E13FlipEvo A13MT-212IT or a Framework Laptop 13. Because of budget constraints, I opted to skip the Framework option.
Among the YouTube recommendations, there was a video about the Lenovo Yoga Slim Gen 8 (14" AMD Ryzen).
Now, I’m unsure which one to pick. Which would you recommend?
Thank you in advance.
