Hello everyone,
I’m thinking about purchasing a laptop for my daughter. At the moment she mainly plays Roblox, but as she grows older she’s interested in more games, which makes me excited because I’m a PC gamer too.

I don’t have much experience with laptops—CPUs, GPUs, or anything technical—but I’m comfortable with desktops since I’ve always built my own. I’m weighing the idea of building her a desktop first, as she enjoys being mobile and wants to bring her laptop around the house. That way, she can visit her mom without needing a separate device.

She still loves Roblox but is also into games like Fortnite, Fortnite, Call of Duty: Mw3, Rocket League, and other Steam titles. She’d appreciate trying different games, especially something with good graphics. I want to keep her choices open for now so we don’t have to upgrade the laptop in two years.

I’m not looking for maximum graphics performance, but I don’t want to sacrifice smooth 60+ FPS. Any thoughts on what you think about these options? How would you rate the Acer model as a starting point? I know nothing about laptops, but I understand that the RTX 3050 Ti isn’t as powerful as a desktop GPU.

I’m also open to suggestions and would like to keep the budget around $800 or less, which brings me back to my current options at Best Buy or Amazon. Those offer good financing plans.

You might find several options from the HP Victus line within that price range. This is not an endorsement, merely a note.
