What laptop should I choose?
MSI GE68HX features an i9 13950hx processor, 4060 8GB RAM, 32GB memory, a 1TB NVMe SSD, and a display resolution of 1920x1200 at 144Hz with a 10ms refresh rate and limited color range.
ASUS TUF Gaming A15 comes with a Ryzen 9 7940hs, 4070 8GB RAM, 16GB memory, a 1TB NVMe SSD, and a WQHD 2560X1440 display at 165Hz with a 3ms G-sync capability.
I’m currently in the USA on a short trip while being based in Canada. I found this MSI laptop at Costco and was hesitant mainly due to the 1920x1200 screen’s limited color options.
The ASUS model has a less powerful CPU, a better GPU, half the RAM, but offers a larger 15.6-inch display and Advanced Optimus (MSI only provides a MUX switch requiring a reboot for mode changes). The MSI model supports per-key RGB lighting, whereas the ASUS uses a single zone. The battery capacity is slightly bigger on the MSI.
