Good morning everyone! I hope your holidays were filled with joy! My friend recently bought his first desktop PC and has everything except the motherboard and RAM. He’s considering the Aorus Elite X570 from Gigabyte but it’s currently out of stock in our area. We have several alternatives in a similar price range, though I’m not confident enough to suggest the best one. Here are some choices: Gigabyte Aorus Elite – $199.99 CAD (out of stock), Asus Prime X570-P – $189.99 CAD (available), TUF Gaming X570 PLUS – $214.99 CAD (available), TUF Gaming X570 PLUS with Wi-Fi – $224.99 CAD (limited stock), MSI MPG Gaming Edge WIFI – $224.99 CAD (limited stock). These are the top picks within his budget. I’m leaning toward the MSI model, which matches his style but offers strong performance regardless of appearance. If anyone here can assist with recommendations, that would be greatly appreciated! Cheers!
Consider the Asus TUF. The budget x570 MSI units aren’t ideal, especially this model which has inadequate VRM cooling. If you plan to upgrade to faster chips later, the board might overheat and limit performance. There’s a WiFi Aorus x570 Elite version available... would you like to place an order for that? It isn’t sold on amazon.com or newegg.ca, among other sites.
I’d opt for the Asrock X570 Taichi Premium. Its specs are solid, and it should be around USD300. If that’s higher than your budget, the only choices I’d think of are the Asus TUF (if he prioritizes Wi-Fi) or the Aorus Elite.
This would surpass his budget in CAD amounts, regrettably. Please know I’m trying to stay within his budget of about $230 USD based on current rates.
The Asrock x570 Steel Legend works fine for me. The design isn't to my liking—feels too cluttered, with excessive fake steel and colors, plus printed text on the board that looks worse due to the camo paint. It really comes down to personal preference.
