I’ve spent roughly 150 hours in CS GO and only played a few competitive matches—just six so far, winning two of them. This was before I reached 40 hours. Recently I decided to get back in the game and ended up winning two consecutive matches. I’m curious about the cooldown period. I didn’t grieve, hack, or do anything unusual. My play was normal, with no standout kills, so there’s no reason for anyone to report me.

As mentioned, the system lets "matchmaking servers adjust your Skill Group positioning" depending on your performance in your matches. For CSGO, this occurs whenever you achieve two wins within 24 hours until you finalize your placement. Once you reach a rank, you're free to play as much as you like. In practice, it serves as a way to avoid smurfing.

This indicates whether you're receiving a ranking or if you must achieve a score of 10 games.
