New parts arrived. Everything is properly connected and verified, yet the PC fails to start. The logo on the motherboard lights up when I flip the PSU switch, but pressing the power button doesn’t work!
I took out the motherboard from its case and placed it in the cardboard box it came in, connecting only the essential components. Still, nothing functions. I tested with a single memory stick and different slots—no improvement. I performed a paperclip test on the PSU, which worked. Since the MB logo lights up, power is reaching the motherboard. What could I be doing incorrectly?
Details:
Motherboard: ASUS Prime X670E-Pro WiFi
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
CPU Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo DDR5-6000 C30 DC - 32GB (2x16GB) (F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5N)
Graphics: Sapphire Radeon RX 6700 XT Pulse - 12GB GDDR6 RAM
PSU: Corsair RM850x 850W PSU RF
Storage: Kingston FURY Renegade PCIe M.2 NVME SSD 2TB
Case: Fractal Design Define 7 Mid Tower
Here are some photos showing the breadboarding process.

The final image appears to indicate that the front panel headers aren't properly connected. Are you attempting to power on the motherboard by connecting the front panel power and ground pins directly?

They were linked before, when I attempted to turn it on the first time. I placed it inside the case and tried to start it, but nothing occurred, so I removed it.

Do you have the correct pins on the power cable attached? On mine, the last two were omitted by mistake, which is what happened to me. The manual clarified this. Additionally, the motherboard might display a sequence for proper CPU and memory installation, such as a series of lights. When I first turned it on, all three lights lit up red and then turned off, indicating everything was fine. Does your motherboard have something similar?

Could the motherboard require a BIOS upgrade to work with the CPU? I understand this might be a problem with the newer Ryzen processors, though I'm not sure about the latest models.

It's usually wise to check the BIOS updates first.
Could you clarify what you mean by the debug lights? They aren't shown in the pictures.

If by "pwr cable" you refer to the front panel connections, then yes. I ensured it was connected properly; the final two pins remain unconnected on the front panel but could serve for intrusion detection with suitable gear. Nowadays, this shouldn't be an issue because I'm not linking any front panel connectors during breadboarding. Instead, I can use a screwdriver to bridge the necessary pins. The MB also features a set of LED lights intended for troubleshooting, though they remain inactive.

It shouldn't. The parts are fresh, and the MB is the most recent update (or at least it was the newest in November), and the Asus site states this MB can work with this specific CPU without requiring any changes.
