rice grain size isn't ideal for the ihs on amd chips; spreading it helps because of the larger die size. also, 120 aio aren't optimal for the ryzen 7 3700x. wraith is pushing it on that processor too. consider using a thermal right burst cooler or an aio 240.

A skilled killer would suit that role well. Affordable yet effective.

Times seem to be getting better, but I might stick to caution and buy some fresh thermal paste. I think I'm pushing it since I got it about 4 or 5 years ago.
When I used the rice method and took the cooler off, it spread evenly, so I'll try the 5 dots.
Thanks for the tip!

Worked well, the 120mm aio was also fine and never really exceeded 75. Wraith seems to be functioning properly now, bringing temperatures down from the high 95s to around 80-85. I’m not looking for a new aio right now, but I’ll check out the Thermaltake. Thanks.

Best settings for Ryzen models before the 5000 series reach up to 60-62°C, beyond that performance drops more rapidly.
