What issues are affecting my computer?
Hi everyone, I've been experiencing a small problem with my PC for some time now. It's not a major issue, so I haven't really felt the need to fix it. But maybe you can shed some light on what's happening.
It began about a year ago, when I hadn't used my computer for a while (not just a quick reboot). Once it was turned on, the little "globe" showing no internet connection would always appear. Even if I unplugged and plugged in the internet cable, it didn't fix the issue.
But something interesting happened: after rebooting the PC, everything worked again. It became a sort of routine—I'd restart it, go to the login screen with no internet, and then let it boot up normally.
In the past month, my PC has started showing a "Scanning and repairing disc C" message when it boots up, which it never did before. Although this takes about 10 extra seconds, it seems to resolve the internet problem automatically now.
I'm a bit concerned because I think my disk might be failing, but I'm not sure since the only time I've booted it was during the first day of the week and then the issue disappeared.
I tried reinstalling Windows about six months ago and wiped everything on my drives, but that didn't help. By then, I still had no internet connection when booting up, and the "scanning" hadn't started yet.
Drivers and Windows updates are all up-to-date. Does anyone recognize this issue? I'm not sure if it's related to my disk, motherboard, or some software problem at all. Thanks for any help you can provide.
What are the specifications of the PC? I think it's Windows 10.
Right-click the start button, select Powershell (admin).
Paste this command into the window:
Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth
Press enter.
Then type SFC /scannow and press enter.
Restart the PC if SFC fixes any files since some repairs need a restart to take effect.
The first command cleans the files that SFC uses and updates system files.
SFC stands for System File Checker. The first command runs DISM.

If you run it, it will automatically scan the drive and check its health.
Hi,
Yes, it's running Windows 10 Home.
Processor: Intel i5-10600k at 4.10ghz.
GPU: ROG 2080S.
Memory: 32GB at 2666MHz.
Motherboard: ROG Strix Z490-F Gaming.
Storage: ADATA SP900 256GB, Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB.
PowerShell reported Image Health as Healthy, which seems okay.
SFC found some corrupt files and successfully replaced them; PC restarted but scanning for disc C still showed issues.
CrystalDiskInfo indicates both discs are functioning well—C at 98% health, D at 97%.
Temperatures are around 32°C on both sides.
Overall, it looks like everything is in order.
Search for the command prompt and open it with administrative privileges.
Type the specified commands and press enter; two prompts will appear asking you to agree to run at startup. Close the prompt window and restart the PC. You may also execute the same process on another drive, which should start without needing a reboot. Just change the "c:" reference to the desired drive letter.
