Hello,
My PC operated normally yesterday. This morning, after turning it on, I noticed the RGB lighting on the motherboard but the two connected displays via the Nvidia GPU showed no input signals. After removing one cable from the GPU and connecting it directly to the motherboard’s HDMI port, it still didn’t work. When I disconnected a USB device from the PC, it emitted the normal unplugging sound from Windows 10, but after reattaching it, the sound disappeared. I attempted a remote login from an iPad, which reported the PC was off. The internet connection at home was fine. I forced shutdowns and rebooted multiple times without success. Later, I moved the PC to another room and connected it directly to another display through the motherboard’s HDMI port, but it still didn’t function. Then I unplugged the HDMI cable from the motherboard and connected it to the GPU, and now everything works.

What’s happening? Is something malfunctioning in the machine? Could it be a security issue? I built this PC about five years ago. The specifications are: i9-9900K, Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Xtreme, EVGA Nvidia RTX2080Ti, Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB.

It seems the GPU driver might have become confused or stopped working. Not receiving any signal from the HDMI port on the motherboard when a GPU is installed is common, as the BIOS often turns off built-in video if a GPU is present. I could attempt to remove all nVidia drivers and reinstall the newest ones.

Thank you. It seems the issue occurred when attempting to remote login from an iPad multiple times, as the system indicated the PC was not powered on. Also, I was performing a Windows Update on another PC last night; I'm unsure if that affected this machine. Currently, Windows here is undergoing updates related to Windows 10 22H2. Do you think the update might have caused problems? I just installed the latest Nvidia driver.

It's difficult to determine. Not all remote login tools are the same, particularly when moving from iOS/Mac to PC. I believe there isn't a clear connection between them. I recently updated over 50 devices at my workplace without any problems.
