What issue is leading Outlook to malfunction when attempting to print contacts spanning multiple pages?
I am facing a rather unusual problem with printing in Outlook.
When I attempt to print a contacts file that spans two or more pages, the print preview fails and I receive an error saying “There’s a problem with the selected printer. You might need to reinstall this printer. Try again, or use a different printer.”
If I click OK and choose another printer, the same message appears.
Printing emails of any size works fine; one-page contacts are printed correctly. It’s only the contact files that exceed two pages that cause this issue.
Here are some actions I have tried without success:
- Deleting or renaming the OutPrnt file.
- Reinstalling the printer and updating the drivers.
- Reinstalling and updating the graphics drivers.
- Changing the nvidia graphics settings for Outlook.exe.
- Altering the font in the contacts file.
- Adjusting the “memo style” font and print options in the Outlook print dialog.
- Repairing my Office installation.
I have tested this on many contacts and emails. I observe that the print preview in Outlook takes a bit longer to render for files over two pages, but only glitches appear with contact files that are lengthy. This suggests a graphics-related issue.
Despite trying various fixes, nothing has resolved the problem.
Currently, I’m running out of ideas.
Do anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing this and how to fix it?
Thanks!
Is there a solution that could assist? The resource isn't listed.
Interesting. Thank you for your response.
I plan to use the MS Support and Recovery Assist tool you mentioned.
I checked the fixes or workarounds for recent Outlook for PC issues that you shared, but none of them resolved my problem.
No need to worry, I tried others online from people with similar errors, but they didn’t help.
Thanks!
For those interested or facing a similar situation, here is the link to the solution that resolved my issue in Outlook. I needed to execute DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth followed by sfc /scannow using an elevated command prompt. It appears I encountered some damaged or missing Windows system files.
