What is your favorite AM4 CPU
The community's opinion on the top AM4 CPU varies, but many highlight the Ryzen 5 5600X3D as a strong choice. Others mention different models based on performance and value. It really depends on your specific needs!
In general, everything is top-notch, or it’s the only option you’d choose.
A bit confusing inquiry without any background... Specifications are 5800x3D for gaming and 5950x otherwise. They clearly stand out as top choices.
I've only worked with one AM4 CPU in a personal build—the Ryzen 9 5900X. But if I had to choose a top pick, it would be the Ryzen 5 1600. The reason for favoring the R5 1600 is that it marked a major shift for fans. It delivered what was once seen as "high core count" and pushed Intel’s HEDT and server lines forward, making them more accessible to everyday users. Compared to the Core i7 6800K, which needed a costly high-end board, the R5 1600 offered strong performance at half the price ($220) and fit on a $70 B350 motherboard. The Ryzen 7 lineup was the main contenders, with the R7 1700 standing out as a strong alternative to the i7 7700K. However, the entry-level Ryzen 5 parts really changed the game. In productivity tests, the R5 1600 easily beat the i5 7600K—often being 2.5 times faster. For Intel, the impact was significant; in certain titles, the Ryzen 5 1600 matched or even surpassed the i5 7600K, especially in low-end scenarios. Over three years, new releases started showing better performance with the R5 1600 than the Core i5 7600K. Personally, I consider the Ryzen 5 1600 my favorite and believe it was the most influential CPU of its time.
I enjoy the AF edition of the 1600, it's a solid budget processor.
