What is this buzzing sound?
I’m experiencing this unusual humming noise on my new PC, but it only occurs when idle—not when under stress. For instance, while streaming YouTube, the GPU fan speed stays at zero RPM, and normally the GPU draws about 30-50 watts in idle mode, which isn’t much. This suggests it’s not coil whine. I’m wondering if the HDDs could be the source. Even though I installed them a month ago without hearing this noise, they still produce it occasionally. The video shows just this buzzing sound, with no other background noises. It happens sporadically and resets itself.
System details: RX 4090, 7950X3D, 32GB RAM, PL360L flux cooler, 30th Anniversary Edition, Xigmatek Alpha case, FSP 1200W, 80+ PLAT PSU. All fans are included except the radiator fans from the Coolermaster cooler.
Could we improve the audio quality? The current file isn’t sufficient for clear identification, and it doesn’t contain any recognizable sound, only background buzz and minor microphone noise.
The intermittent buzzing noise you mentioned seems to be from an AIO pump. That’s quite surprising—I didn’t think it could be related to the HDD, PSU, or anything else. You’re welcome to share another recording if you’d like more clarity.
It seemed a bit too loud at times, almost like a spike, which made me concerned. I wasn’t sure if it was because I ran it at maximum speed or if the AIO pump itself was faulty. How should I handle this issue?
