Reinstalled two fresh windows without any prior issues during setup. Restarting Windows is consistently the quickest and most secure method to eliminate any doubts.

You can try removing it carefully, but double-check first. If you used Defender, make sure you follow their guidelines to avoid issues.

I’d prefer a clean setup, but I’m stuck with a lot of Steam games… which means it’ll take longer to reinstall everything. I’ve already reinstalled Windows 10 on the same version, keeping all the preferences intact. The original files are still present.

Copy the text into Notepad and open it to view. The file appears to be a leftover from an older Windows version upgrade.

It doesn't launch properly in Notepad, and clicking it redirects you to the desktop while hiding everything. Odd behavior!

It's a quick way to access the desktop, similar to the button at the bottom right. It's considered secure.

Really, everyone you mentioned suspicious files? Should we all start with a fresh installation? For those unknown threats, AdwCleaner works well. You can check the file paths to see what’s going on. Likely you can disable autorstart for this item. It might even show up as a shortcut in autostart by mistake. It’s quite entertaining for people who don’t take much care with their systems. A handy skill for those who’ve just learned how to install Windows and now think they’re experts. Pro tip!

I saw your feedback about the app removing certain features. Would you like suggestions for alternative apps that might work better?
