Bethesda released an update for Skyrim SE today. Currently, I can't play because most modders have changed the game, and SKSE64 isn't updated yet. Anyone know how long it usually takes for these updates to be fixed? Thanks.

I believe SKSE64 should also receive updates from the authors. Hold off for a while. In the meantime, consider this alternative method. Swapping in an older, compatible version of skyrimSE.exe usually works well.
Visit https://steamdb.info/depot/489833/history/ to view the Steam revision history for skyrimSE.exe. Locate the entry with the release date you're interested in and check the "Manifest ID."
Launch windows via (win+R), then navigate to steam://nav/console.
In the console, enter: download_depot 489830 489833 <Insert your Mainfest ID from step 1>
Once the download finishes, the console will display the location of your binary.
Update skyrimSE.exe in your installation folder and adjust accordingly.

I believe SKSE64 should also receive an update from the authors. Hold off for a while. In the meantime, try this alternative method. Swapping in an older, compatible version of skyrimSE.exe usually works fine.
Visit https://steamdb.info/depot/489833/history/
This page lists the Steam revision history for skyrimSE.exe. Locate the release date you're interested in and check the "Manifest ID" there.
Press Win + R in the console window, then navigate to steam://nav/console.
In the console that appears, enter: download_depot 489830 489833 <Insert your Mainfest ID from step 1>
Once the download finishes, the console will display the location of your binary.
Update skyrimSE.exe in your installation folder. Adjust your Skyrim update preferences accordingly and launch the game exclusively via the skse launcher to prevent any further surprises.

Yeah, wow, thank you so much! I returned to the game after a couple of years, modded it, played for a few hours... then the update and I'm like, seriously? I forgot about the preventing the auto-update thing, then thought it was too late.
So I followed your instructions and it worked. The only thing is that my modded game stutters for 2 seconds before it loads during the Bethesda splash screen. The screen goes black and the music goes "tick, tick, tick, tick..." It was doing this before the update, but now that I replaced the exe it seems... slightly longer? At first it tried to cut to desktop with the stopped responding window, but it canceled that and went back to the game.
It might be because a few mods have updated probably to patch for the new release. It claimed that the Great City of Winterhold was missing because that mod was one of the few that updated, so I set the mod back to the prior version (which Vortex tracks) and the cut to desktop stopped, though the stutter continued. No idea what the stutter is, but it doesn't appear to impact the game at all. I haven't seen any bugs yet. I did play a couple saves after your fix, and they all seem fine. Fingers crossed.
Thanks again!
