Upon its release, the updated Microsoft Flight Simulator will be showcased, with this specific promotional clip captured during an Xbox session.
Until the major visual upgrade arrives in 4K and 8K, my preferences lean toward Resident Evil 2 reboot, Detroit: Become Human, and Modern Warfare 2019 for their standard graphics. Skyrim remains strong if we skip those extra details like big tiddy, elf ears, and dragons. Edit: I might have focused on magic by accident, but I did notice the tiddies... #Truth

If characters and HUD were removed from GTA and a screenshot was taken, I'd still call it GTA...
On the original version? Many games fit the bill—Tomb Raider, Metro Exodus, Ethan Carter, BF:V, RDR2, Dishonored 2, FC:V, Crysis.
Low-end PC players often have to invest thousands in equipment just to make their games look realistic. /s
The 6-year-old version of a game looks great.
Honorable recognition goes to Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
Frostbite engine titles, continuing the series. Most elements rely on photogrammetry, ensuring textures align perfectly with the models just as in real environments. If you're genuinely seeking photorealism—beyond merely "good graphics"—then consider Ethan Carter from Crysis (I still believe CryEngine’s renderer delivers the most realistic results), while the rest have moved on. The Rapture era is a shift, and even Edith Finch might be overlooked if some models are inconsistent. Three-quarters of these titles function as walking simulations, with two being CryEngine projects. Hunt Showdown marks a fresh entry in the CryEngine lineup.
I believe the shift to physically based rendering marked the point where visuals became noticeably more realistic. Lighting plays a crucial role in determining how believable a scene appears.
