What is the top laptop option available for a $5,000 budget currently?
I lost my laptop and the insurance company offered up to $5k for a replacement. My current model is:
Alienware x17 r2
19-12900hk
64 GB RAM
3080ti
4k screen
2TB ssd
4TB ssd (added later)
Could you suggest a better alternative? I just need something other than Asus or Apple.
5K USD?
What is its purpose?
(you might be able to reduce that in half)
Without being particularly helpful, it seems the Apple side is clear, but with ASUS you'd rather not engage them. You might want to check out DreamMachines—possibly the group you're referring to. The Toasty Bros on YouTube gave a solid review of "the most expensive laptop you can buy," which includes an external water cooling module that functions somewhat well.
Dell made a significant impact with the new Area 51 line. The main improvements from the previous m18R2 include a display update and much better cooling. The 275HX offers a faster and more efficient CPU compared to the 14900HX. If you have $5k to invest, you won't be let down.
Your previous laptop was quite reliable—a 3080Ti with 64GB of RAM? That's essentially a mobile workstation! If you're not keen on ASUS or Apple models, the Alienware m18 or Razer Blade 16/18 would be perfect alternatives. The MSI Titan is also a decent choice if you're willing to handle the extra weight. I'm searching for something in this range and will stick to the suggestions here.
